Woooooo! Sammie came in Second Read today and invited me to her stitch and bitch! Finally! I'm so excited! It's been so long since I've been to a Stitch and Bitch.

Hmmmm. What project should I cast-on.....Probaly my fingerless gloves. But, maybe, the seaweed sole. Wow. I really wish there was bit torrent for pay patterns....

Hello my neglected knit blog! How are you doing?

I havn't been posting much, becuase I really havn't been knitting much. Simple as that.

I started to cast on some socks, using Opal yarn and size 5 needles. Yup. Waaay too big. So, I bought some size 2 and froged. I havn't cast on again. Soon I hope.

Heavenly Sock Yarns has become my new LYS. Mainly becuase the lady is so goddamn nice. She always has toys for Abby to play with, and is just generally talkative.

The other day, I bought two skeines of Debbie Bliss 100% silk yarn. *splooge* I'm planing on making some fingerless gloves with them. Mmmm.

Like always, there are many patterns that I love. The one that caught my eye today is the Seaweed Stole. I'm really inlove with it. And, I want to try lace so badly!!!! I *might* buy it. And some nice yarn and sexy needles...It's so a coastal Maine looking stole.

I've been toying with the idea of making mass amounts of simple knitted toys to sell on my site. But, I have so much work todo already with my site....I won't get into it.

Abbby's starting to stirr and the thunderstorm is almost done. i should go.

Happy Thanksgiving!

This weekend, I'm taking a brake from my scarf and I'm working on Abigail's mitten/hat/scarf set. I'm thinking black with a pink argyle print. She has a black pea coat as a winter jacket, so they should look wonderful together.

I should knit a christmas stocking for Abigail.

So, I really need to get my ass in gear and knit, knit, knit.
  • My scarf (though slanted) needs to be finished.
  • I want to knit Abigail a hat, scarf and mittens for the winter (argyle, of course)
  • I want to knit Abigail Cargo and some nice felted booties.
  • I want a pair of fingerless gloves for when I'm working.
  • I was hoping to knit some sort of a laptop case. Though, I'll probably buy one...
  • I have a couple of catnip mice that need to be finished.

My Secret Pal struck the other day. she bought me, Folk Bags. I've been wanting it for quite a while. There's a bunch of bags that I want to make. I'm very happy. I really need to start working up my libary.

So, a not-so-local yarn shop (Halcyon Yarns) is offering an intensive spinning class in the begining of December. I might consider doing it. But, it's $150. And, you need to rent a wheel if you don't have one. Plus, it's probably more geared to spinning wheels and I'd probably use a spindel more, atleast right now. It sounds fun, but maybe I might wait...

I will, however, be going there soon. Not only are they the largest in Maine (apparently), but they sell the unspun (though carded) fiber that I want for my hair. Soon, I will be a "dread head" or a "woolie head". *laughs* Perhaps before Thanksgiving...

So, apparently no one celebrates thanksgiving anymore. Halloween was two days ago. I went into Wal*Mart this afternoon and it was full of christmas decoration. And they were playing Christmas music! WTF!!!! Arrraugh! What happened to Thanksgiving?

*shakes head angerly*

However, it made me think about christmas knitting. Socks this year? Or maybe felted laptop bags! Oh yes! That sounds like a wonderful idea! :-D And kitties should get catnip mouses.

See, the good thing about christmas knitting is it's a great way to stash bust. And then, since you have no stash, you have to SEX. It's good to have a reason to buy more yarn.

So, I just made a catnip mouse for Speedwell. And, while he likes it, I don't. I used This Pattern from Lion's Brand and I don't like how it turned out. It's way too not mouse shaped. Meh. So, if anyone has any good mouse patterns, can you send them my way? THe one I made was simple and quick. It was pretty damn fun to make. I'd like to make a bunch and send them to other cats. That and I love my cats very much and would like for them to be as spoiled as possible :-)

So, after many emails and fears of it's displacement, my first package from my Secret Pal came this afternoon! Yea!!! I'm very excited. I received some sock wool (that I can't wait to knit up), lots of chocolate and bubble gum, some bathables and some tea. I'm deffinatly very happy. Though, I'm slightly dissapointed that I have no real reason to wait for the mail man anymore :-P I'll have to send out some letters soon. Snail mail is my new addiction.

Thank you very much Secret Pal! You rock!

Oh, and while I'm on the topic of Secret Pal...I'm slightly worried about my spoilee. I've sent her maybe 3 or 4 emails and a package that should be ariving soon (if not already). But, I havn't heard anything from her. Her blog is a knit blog, so she only updated it when she does something crafty. No updates....I'm mildy worried and am wondering if I should talk to my host soon.

I wish I was a faster knitter...

I don't really like knitting in the bathtub. My yarn gets wet. Or, if my yarn does't get wet, then my arms hurt from holding it up in the air. Bah.

Half a foot down, about 4 1/2 to go on my scarf. I wish I could turn out projects faster

Honestly, this weekend, I had high hopes for being productive. But, you know what? I don't care. It's windy and cold and wet outside. The wind is howling. All I want to do is stay in bed and cuddle. But my baby won't allow that. Damn hyper active babies. So, instead of peeling paint. And instead of painting. Ima knit. It's cold. I want my scarf.

Happy Knitting!
