I ch and ch-ed until I was blue in the face. It just isn't working! My double chains look like giant blobs. Now I'm trying a diffrent pattern, knit of course. On circs. OH HOW I HATE THE CIRCS! It's almost two, I've been working on this blasted thing ALL DAY. And I've gotten no where! *fumes* DPNs made it too short. My circs are a POS so the yarn doesn't move freely and the gauge gets all streached out and screwed up. Ugh. I want to try again, but I'm just so frustrated!

I need to knit more!

And I promise I'll post some pictures of (perpetual) WIPs. It's kinda like a "one more row" type of thing.

Oh, and I FROGED the cashmir hat. It just wasn't working out. Sadly.

I have never heard so much jargon until I tried to desphier my first crochet pattern:
Rnd 1:Ch 4,join with sl st to 1st ch to form ring.Ch 3(cts as dc),5 dc in ring.Join with sl st to 1st dc(6 dc)

I'm using this pattern , to make this hat and using this book to fill in the gaps.

Now, give me a knitting pattern, and I can read it like it's my second language. *shrug* I guess we all have to start somewhere. Hopefully, I'll get it. Sooner or later...

While I have many things on the needles (a hat, a shawl, a sock and sooner or latter some gloves and mittens), the one thing that's keeping my interest is my sock. And, of course, I left it in the car. Grrr. Guess I have do so schoolwork now.

So, I saw this pattern, and I automatically decided to cast on. Yeah, I'm using cheap ass Red Heart Yarn, but I plan to line them.

The pattern in Here. It's in a PDF. It's called "Body Count Mittens". They're mittens and you put the date that you casted on, and the body count in the war in Iraq. I think it's an awsome political statement. I encourage everyone to make their own pair, with the up to date figures of the time you cast on. Don't know how to knit? I'll teach you.

Cross posted to my personal journal, poeticdream.

So. I went into Halcyon yarns. Amazingly, I walked out with nothing. Even though Noro was 25% off. I truely must have self control.

Though, they had lots of cone yarns which I want to pick up. And, they have lots of thin fibers for weaving. Imagine weaving something....Maybe I'll find a table top loom someday...

Anyways! Sooner or later, I will turn my heel! (did I already menchon that??)

I havn't updated in a while, and I'm not sure if this blog, or poeticdream is connected with Secret Pal, so in sake of the rules, I'm going to update. that and I really don't want to do school work

I'm currently working on a sock. Opal yarn, size 2.5ish needles in a very generic sock pattern. Mainly becuase I want to use up the yarn, and becuase I want to get a jist of knitting socks. Later on, I'm going to do many, pretty sock patterns. The fall knitty was loaded with them. I <3 Socks and you can never have too many socks!

Soon, I'm goign to cast on for my Silk fingerless gloves!!!! Yes, I am excited. I'm using Debbie Bliss 100% Washable Silk Yarn in a lovly ivory color. I might do some accenting with a brown of sorts, but that's later on...I just need to buy the needles.

I also want to, and this is a horribly crazy idea, make a shawl out of recycled sari silk. I know it will be heavy and a pain to work with, but oh! It will look wonderful!!! As I said, it's a crazy idea.

I really want to do some lace project!!!!

I'm still collecteing plastic bags for knitting. Lol. I have garbage bags full of them! I want to make mats for under the bathtub and some recycled shopping bags.I know I'm going to need a lot. Maybe, during one of my school brakes, I might start casting on...It's just one of those projects taht are in the back of my head.

Other things I want to knit are:
  • Fishnets for the Abby.
  • OMG-CUTE sweaters and shirts and dresses for the Abby
  • The Sunrise sweater from Interweave.
  • And, of course, just abuot all the sock patterns I see!

Secret Pal is going wonderfully! My Spoiler is absolutly wonderful. She's from Rochester, so I deffinatly feel some sort of connection with her. She's treated me well, giving me everything from chocolates to *gasp* LUSH!!!!! Needless to say, I'm deffinatly feeling spoiled. I hope I'm going a decent job on my spoilee. I don't think I've made enough contact with her, but I know I've sent her lots of stuff. She loves making wearable art, so I sent her a box just off beads and charms and things that would make wonderful jewlery. I also sent her lots of buttons, stamps and fimo clay. Of course, she received a box of yarn too ^-^ I think I'm going to try and send one or two more things to her.

Well, I think that's about it for an update right now. Schoolwork is learking over me. And, all I really want to do is lay in the AC and knit.
